About MJR
MJR Copy and Content is me, Matt Rigby. I’m a copywriter, editor, journalist, script writer, video content manager and project delivery manager with experience at every level of content creation for all sorts of clients and publications – Consumer, B2C, B2B, in-house and agency. I cut my teeth as a beat reporter, product reviewer and sub-editor for car magazines and websites. I subsequently moved on to marketing and comms at a fledgling startup. I’ve also ghost-written columns in national newspapers, been on an editorial team creating long-form lifestyle magazines and global online editorial content for Volvo Cars and currently edit the membership magazine for the IAM RoadSmart road safety charity.
YouTube, Social media and email marketing are – of course – hugely effective brand-building and customer-acquisition tools, and I’ve been instrumental in creating extensive campaigns for both social and email. This includes helping to manage the Carwow YouTube channel during 2019 and 2020, where it grew from 2.4 million subscribers to more than 5 million.
I’ve created audits of content for various purposes, from longtail SEO landing page recommendations to investigations and suggestions for updating and repackaging opportunities for the B2B marketing content for a global IT giant.
I’ve covered every corner of copy creation, whether fast-paced weekly consumer magazines, popular YouTube channels, creative content solutions for global clients or taking charge of in-house copy and tone for innovative startups.
I’ve grown email marketing campaigns from scratch to reach more than a quarter of a million recipients, managed YouTube content with millions of subscribers, written for websites with hundreds of millions of visitors and helped create & deliver brand magazines translated into 27 languages.
I’m a true multi-trick pony: my experience means I am as comfortable using desktop publishing or prototyping software as I am building content into a CMS, or managing final delivery of multi-format content.
